Organized by the director of
the "Leonardo Tennis Academy", coach Renato Morabito (in the picture on the left), the appointment
with the great female tennis in southern Italy is repeated, in the structures
of the "Zaiera Hotel" of Solarino, in the province of Siracusa.
The area of Siracusa, as we
know, is well known for its focus on national and international tennis
tournaments.
From February 17th
to March 10th 2018, three consecutive tournaments of the ITF Women's
Pro Circuit are taking place on the carpet courts of the Zaiera Tennis Resort,
each with a money prize of $ 15.000, in which several professionals in the top
200 of the world ranking will compete with the best emerging players. Every day
it is possible to follow different matches, from 9 am to 6 pm, with free entry.
The coach Renato Morabiato, on this occasion, wanted to "thank for the hospitality
the director of the Resort and the sponsors". The mayor of Solarino
Sebastiano Scorpo highlighted "how the city is satisfied that this
international women's tournament of the ITF (International Tennis Federation),
in southern Italy, has been taking place in Solarino for four years".
Satisfaction for the
organization was also expressed by the director of the Resort, which sees its
own structure increasingly crowded with tourists and visitors.
The qualifying matches of
the first tournament took place on Saturday and Sunday 17th and 18th,
while from Monday 19th the event got into its high point with the matches
of the main draw. Eventually on Saturday 24th of February there will
be final of the first tournament. Then on Saturday 24th and Sunday
25th the qualifications of the second tournament will start and on
March 3rd the second tournament will end with the final. Afterwards,
on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th of March, the
qualifications of the third and last tournament will take place, and it will
end with the final on March 10th.
Among the confirmed
protagonists of the event there is great expectation for the Dutch tennis
player Michaëlla Krajicek, a player who can count already many participations
in the most important tournaments of the WTA (Women's Tennis Association)
circuit.
